Random things
((This is just another information dump (hopefully the last one for awhile) on pretty much everything else that doesn't already fit into another category. Most things here is headcanon, so in other words, 99% of it is just bullshit.))
The Flame (6/18/14)
Emizel's flame is quite a bit special. For one thing as long as he is wearing the jacket, it never goes out (it will still burn even if its underwater, though it has a bit more of a 'liquid' appearance instead). The second thing is that whatever mood or condition Emizel is in, it'll act accordingly. This makes reading Emizel thoughts pretty damn easy.
[By Default/Neutral] - It's in its normal size, but doesn't really give a whole lot of heat.
[Asleep/Unconscious] - It will shrink down to about half its size. If he's actually injured though, depending on how serious it is it will have a harder time staying lit and flicker occasionally.
[Sick] - The flame will actually loose it's color, becoming a greyish white instead of blue. It will also naturally be a lot weaker and slower to respond to things. But also the more bright and vibrant it is, the healthier Emizel is too.
[Cheerful/Content] - The flame has a comforting warmth to it. Actually pretty much any positive emotion can trigger this, so even things like excitement (typically with a bigger flame), optimism, and love.
[Angry/Frightened] - Becomes burning hot. Not enough to do long term damage, but can still hurt a lot to touch. It's also known to flare up a bit more than usual. Although if it was something like a jump scare, it's more like just a short burst.
[Depressed/Miserable] - The flame becomes colder. Much like the other one above, any other negative, pessimistic feelings can do this too.
[Shy/Embarrassed] - Flame will flicker and shake, usually rapidly. It tickles to touch it, but temperatures can change very suddenly. Not really recommended.
Other Semi-Noteworthy err, Notes:
- If flame does inevitably go out, dead.
- Assuming people aren't too busy messing with the temperatures and what not, they should be able to notice that the flame does pulsate; at about the same rate and force as a heartbeat.
- The effects are only a one way street. Anyone trying to alter the flame to see what it might do to him will be rather disappointed since he can't feel anything through it nor is it really attached to anything. Technically he can't feel other people touching it either, although because of where it's located and usually involves lifting the hood it's pretty obvious. It's basically like having somebody touch your hair...if it was also a mood ring.
- So the whole point of having it in the first place? Well, it's basically a lure to catch souls with. That may or may not always work. Mileage may vary for those with dead characters. It's not really meant to be left on at all times, but Emizel turned it into more of a fashion accessory. It looks cool and it shows off his lineage? Sold.
Special Game/PSL Extras and Exceptions:
- At
paixaorpg to go with the Kingdom Hearts setting, too much light or too much darkness can also change the flame in ways. Darkness would start making it more of a dark purpleish smoke, whereas light (if he can even survive through it) will give it a gold shine. If Emizel is given too much to the point of no return the flame will either become solid black or a radiant white and gold.
- Memento, Emizel's Nobody in one AU, has something very close to the "sick" flame. It's not very responsive and has no color.
- In the KHR AU, it's simply replaced by Mist flame. His jacket is just a very glorified dying will ring.
- In another AU in which Emizel is a spirit of winter, it's not even a flame at all but a snowflake hanging from his hood.
More stuff will be added as time goes on.
